I hail from the southwestern city of Tucson, Arizona, and received two Bachelor of Arts degrees, one in music, and the other in art history from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. I went on to complete my Master of Arts degree in Collections Management of Museum Collections from John F. Kennedy University in Berkeley, CA.
As soon as I finished my graduate work, I moved to Atlanta to work for Premier Exhibitions, Inc. where I served in two different roles over my eight years there: as Registrar and as Curator of Collections for the collection of objects recovered from the wreck site of the RMS Titanic. In this capacity, I worked to help design and install exhibitions, collections care of the objects, research and curation, and documentation and mapping of RMS Titanic wreck site. I have been on expeditions to the wreck site of the RMS Titanic and the wreck site of the RMS Carpathia, the ship to rescue the survivors of the RMS Titanic. These were experiences of a lifetime!
After Premier Exhibitions, I worked for the High Museum of Art in Atlanta for four years as the Associate Registrar, Exhibitions, managing all registration aspects for over 40 exhibitions. I got to see some of the world's most amazing art, work with fantastic and diverse artists, and experience exhibition planning from start to finish. Two of my personal favorites from my tenure at the High: getting to see Johannes Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earringin person and working on the Dream Cars exhibition, where I managed the installation of over a dozen vehicles.
Having traveled extensively for work in the past, I am now a self-proclaimed homebody that enjoys each moment I can with my husband, two children, and mixed mutt dog. We enjoy visiting local sites and museums, cooking fabulous meals, gardening, and seeing fun movies.
