On an as-needed basis, the Zuckerman Museum of Art will send out a call for student assistantships. These paid positions are a great way to gain experience in public service, administration, and the museum field as you earn your degree. Kennesaw State University students from any academic concentration are welcome to apply.
Responsibilities include but are not restricted to:
Aiding with and overseeing the museum’s daily operations including opening and closing the galleries; monitoring the art work and exhibitions during operating hours; welcoming and guiding museum guests; assisting with special programming and events; performing administrative tasks and research; conducting special tours; and assisting with exhibition installation and/or de-installation.
Applicants must be currently enrolled at Kennesaw State University, meet KSU’s Human Resources requirements for such a position, and be in good academic standing. Selected applicants will be asked to consent to a criminal background check and follow KSU’s student employment guidelines.
The Zuckerman Museum of Art offers competitive unpaid internships for academic credit for undergrad and graduate students. Interns will gain practical, real world experience with the inner workings of a dynamic, contemporary art museum and collecting institution. Students of Kennesaw State University are given preference, though applicants from any accredited college or university are welcome to apply.
Internships take on one of several specialized tracks at the ZMA:
Curatorial Internship: Aid with exhibition research and development. Two internships are available each fall and spring semester, and one is available during the summer semester.
Museum Education Internship: Work on educational programming for college level and K-12 outreach. One Museum Education Internship may available per semester at the discretion of supervising staff.
Registration/Collection Management Internship: Assist with the management and care of the permanent collection. Duties include cataloging, art handling, inventory, rehousing, and research. Two internships are available per semester at the discretion of supervising staff. Candidates must have strong research and organizational skills.

Materials submitted past the deadline will not be accepted. An interview will be required for each position.
Note: We are extending our application deadline for our Spring Semester internship for the registration/collection internship ONLY until November 3, 2017. Internships for Curatorial and Museum Education are already filled.
